She
Did It, She Did It |
 |
Or rather somebody did it. Any team
would have been wonderful in the draft,
but to have Houston Comets trade Lindsay
to Phoenix Mercury of Arizona, how
wonderful can it be.
|
That
is every girls dream to be able to play
near home. She is walking on a
cloud, and so are her family and friends.
With Diana Taurasi there from Connecticut
with all her fans and Kayte Christensen
and all her fans and now Lindsay. The
airlines and the cars will be busy with
people going to the games. I know I will.
Lindsay is working out hard already and we
know how hard she will be working in the
future. The girls are amazing to me.
When Kayte Christensen was drafted I loved
her diary and her new experiences, she is
such an amazing young women. Lindsay
talked to her before the draft and Katy
helped her so, Cori Close and Coach French
have been such friends and have been right
there for her. Thank you all and everyone
else that have helped her in her pursuits.
I am sure she will try to make you all
proud of her. It is important we build up
the fan base for the WNBA, it gives the
girls a place to play when they finish
College. I was reading how much the fan
bas has grown already this year. Diana
Taurasi will bring a lot of fans to help
the fan base. What a thrill for Lindsay to
be on the same team with her. Now I can
hardly wait for the games to start in May.
I sure hope Tiny Ron keeps up the Web page
for Lindsay. I know it is a lot of
work but he is a wonderful uncle to her.
I will be glad
when Lindsay is back in town and I can ask
her some more question. It is hard
to believe she will be leaving already
this week for Arizona.
I had better send
this to Ron and start getting ready for
the Awards Banquet.
Go Lindsay, go
Kayte and go Taurasi and Mercurys. |

|
Okay,
so let’s all take a deep breath.
The beginning of the women’s
basketball season is near.
|
|
Practice
has officially started for the players and
coaches.
Expectations are running
extraordinarily high for this team which
returns four starters, last year’s “sixth
man”, a defensive specialist, two Division I
and a junior college transfer, two freshman
and a track star turning her dedication to
basketball.
Combined with the fact that this is the
last year for “Lindsay Taylor at UCSB”
fans; the last year of what seems like a long
journey that has gone by in a wink of an eye. More...

Taylor
Can Be Proud |
|
The Gauchos have contributed
to the long tradition of showing dignity to the last
second of a game. All we can do is look at this year as
a sign of what is to come for all players in their endeavors
to accomplish more than they had done before. Lindsay
Taylor is still growing as a person and as a player. |
|
I had to add this picture
of Lindsay in her early days. It is such a cute
picture. Her Dad Bill sent it to me. Click to
enlarge.. |

|
|
We gave UConn a
run for their money. We have shown the nation we could
have easily killed all those little huskies, but some of
our Gaucho barrels unfortunately misfired and it was
nobody's fault. Anyway, back to sowing, the final suit from the
"Gaucho Gucci
Year" looks outstanding, I think the ragged fringe around
the edges really adds to it. |

She was part of
something that a lot of basketball players would love to have
had a shot at in their own careers. The 2003-2004 Gaucho season
will hold many great moments I bet.
