Turkish
Season Ended for Gaucho Women |
|
May 2, 2007
Lindsay's team Botas lost in their fifth and final game of the
semi-finals to Besiktas, 89-64. The game was tied at half time,
but the wheels totally fell off in the fourth quarter. Lindsay
had 14 points and 6 rebounds.
So now all the Gaucho women have left Turkey. Lindsay will come
home to recuperate and prepare for the next European season.

Kristen Mann is Quite the
Traveler April 28, 2007
In Turkey one day, Minnesota the next for Media Day and then
this weekend in San Diego for Kate Bauman's wedding......... jet
lag, baby.
Back in Turkey, Lindsay's Botas team is tied 2-2 in their series
with Besiktas in the semi finals of the Turkish WBL
Championships. Fifth and deciding game on Monday in Istanbul to
decide who goes onto the finals against Fennerbahce and Cappie
Poindexter.

Apartment
building collapses in Turkey
April 26, 2007
Thankfully Lindsay and Kristen are located hundreds of miles
away from Istanbul; Mersin and Adana. Mia is outside Istanbul.
However, at any moment in time any of them could be in Istanbul.
I am told they are as safe in Istanbul as being in Santa
Barbara........................... I don't think so, but then
again this isn't my adventure!!!
By the way, Kristen and Mia's teams seasons have ended.
Lindsay's team Botas is down 2 to 1 against Besitktas in the
second round. They play tomorrow, if Botas loses their season is
over and Lindsay may come home. |

Turkish
Playoffs
Jraffety from
UCSB in the WNBA board
April 15, 2007
Jraffety: I'm copying this
from another message board because I can't exactly figure it out
from their site. "Thursday's slate featured a 40-point
explosion from Kristen Mann as Mersin surprised Besiktas on the
road while Botas enjoyed a 49-30 rebounding advantage in its
victory over Migros." Lindsay scored 9 for Botas.
www.tbl.org.tr/tbbl/index.asp
AZoutback:
Yes, Kristin is really coming on, 40
points is certainly worth a Wow. To beat Besitktas (second best
team in Turkish WBL) is HUGE for Mersin. Go Kristin.
Unfortunately for Mia's team, As Akyazi, their season is over.
Botas should advance to the second round if they win this
weekend against Migros in Istanbul. This would delay Lindsay
coming home soon, but in the spirit of the play-offs, Go Botas.

she was selected 11th overall in the 2005 WNBA Draft. In her
rookie season, Mann averaged 3.0 points and 7.7 minutes per
game. In 2006, Mann was inserted into the starting line-up and
averaged 7.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. She

| Huge Games for
Mia Fisher March 19,
2007 Mia scored 34
points against Taurus Bld. in a losing cause two weeks ago. Last
Sunday, March 18, Mia had 23 points against Lindsay's team,
Botas. Lindsay had 22 points in twenty minutes. Botas beat Mia's
team As Akyazi 123 to 83. Two hundred points in a women's
game................. now that is high tempo. |
| Botas vs. Mersin,
Lindsay and K. Mann
March 4, 2007 Lindsay's
team Botas beat Kristen Mann's team Mersin in the port town of
Mersin, Turkey, 82-66. Lindsay had 10 pts. and 7 rebounds in 20
minutes, while Kristen had 13 pts. and 7 rebounds in 40 minutes.
It definitely looks like Kristen will be in shape when she comes
back to the States and the next WNBA season. |
| Good Win for
Lindsay's Team Botas February 9, 2006
Lindsay's team Botas of Adana beat Galatasaray in their gym in
Istanbul. What makes this a very impressive win is the line-up
Galatasaray has, four WNBA players; Loree Moore, Nikki Teasley,
Tangela Smith and Chantelle Anderson. Lindsay had only two
points in 21 minutes, but she had nine rebounds. Good picture of
Lindsay (photo 10) going up against Tangela Smith

Lindsay Back to
Turkey January 25, 2007
Lindsay will be rejoining her team from last year; Botas in
Adana, Turkey. This is good. This will allow her to regain her
condition while playing with a team and coach that know her.
Lindsay will be teamed up
with Cori Engenhausen (6'7") of Stanford '03. It will be
Turkey's version of the Twin Towers. They have let her know that
they can see both her and Cori on the court at the same time.
Botas won their pool in
the EuroCup and will be traveling to Russia to play Dynamo Kursk
in the first round of 16. Kursk is a city south of Moscow
bordering with the Ukraine. |
