Mia Update

December 16, 2006        Mia had her nose broken in the game before last. Her last game she only scored 7 points. Her team Az Akyazi is not doing as well. They are 1 and 6 on the season. www.eurobasket.com/TUR/TUR.asp?women=1

Other tidbits; it appears Kirsten Mann has left her team in Mersin, Turkey. Also, Petra Glaser is no longer with her team Ceyhan. Crystal McCutheon is still with Cankaya U. and doing ok.

And last, it is a possibility that Lindsay Taylor would go back to Turkey for the second half of the Turkish season. What is good about that is that she could get back to the good ole' US in time for the WNBA tryouts.

Lindsay Update

September 17, 2006        Lindsay just had successful heel surgery. This time it was her right heel. So now she has had both heels done and she should be able to put this type of injury behind her.

She will do some recuperation and will then fly off to France, Montpellier to be exact. Montpellier is a city in southern France near Marseille. go.hrw.com/atlas/norm_htm/france.htm

She will play for Lattes Maurin Montpellier www.eurobasket.com/team.asp?Cntry=FRA&Team=7608

She already knows one of the French players Sandra Dijon from her time in Korea. Also, Kelly Miller of the Phoenix Mercury/U of Georgia is on the team.

Two Gaucho Women in Turkey in '06

October 17, 2006        Mia Fisher is back in Turkey again this year. The difference is that she will be playing for a different team located in Istanbul by the name of Tarsus Bld. This team is moving up from the 2nd division to the 1st. It is reported that already she was the MVP in a preseason tournament.

Kristen Mann is playing for Mersin, a team located on the west coast of Turkey along the Mediterranean. Her team finished third in their preseason tournament www.eurobasket.com/TUR/TUR.asp?women=1

Update from the Korean Rugby League

July 9, 2006       Unfortunately, just heard from Lindsay and their team did not make the playoffs. The point differential (20 points) was too great to make up in the Cool Cats last win. So Lindsay will be coming home.
July 7, 2006      They won there second to last game. Now if they win the last game and either one of the two teams ahead of them lose there will be a tie for fourth with the playoffs at stake............ who knows how the Korean Womens Basketball League work out such situations?
July 5, 2006      Here is Lindsay being held at the elbow by Ann Wauters (formerly of WNBA and Belgian National Team). Obviously she has heard of Lindsay's elbow reputation. Lindsay's team the Cool Cats won this
game. Now they are not only firmly out of last place, but are in position to do the totally unexpected and make the post season play-offs.

Best Ever    This picture should be hanging outside Coach French's office. If ever a game legitimizes Gaucho Women's BB, this would be it.

May 17, 2006       There are other teams interested, but we shall she how she sees her future. But all in all I would have to believe it was a great experience for Lindsay in Seattle.......... I know I liked it and it seems like the Seattle fans liked Lindsay.

May 19, 2006       I think the hope from Seattle's standpoint is that Lindsay gets her heel situation taken care of and that she comes back next year, she technically still belongs to Seattle. I think that would also be Lindsay's intent.......... but you never know.

Off to Korea

May 31, 2006        Lindsay will be going to Korea for two months. She will then come back for surgery. This is a good opportunity because Korea pays big money and has big competition; ie 6'8" Russian Maria Stepanova. At such time she will have her heel surgery in August and then go somewhere overseas before next years WNBA season......... my hope would be Seattle again.
