Part II

From the ending of last year’s basketball season to the end of this year’s basketball season, I have become an extremely

proud parent. Both my daughter’s have managed to give me a wonderful gift.  My older daughter, Rozalyn gave us our first granddaughter, Regan Lindsay Moore.  My younger daughter, Lindsay gave us a fabulous basketball season.

Both have had a tremendously positive impact on our collectively large family.  Both brought joy in the present and hope for the future.   There are even times to reminisce in the past.

“Oh, Regan is so cute, she looks so much like her mother did at 8 months.”  “Remember that first high school summer league game where Lindsay played on varsity?” more...

There Was A Raid On Us At Texas Tech And We Lost

Darn, I think if we had been on a neutral court we would have won that game with Texas Tech.  Of course I can say that but not the players or the coaches. After reading some of the
nice things some of the Texas Tech fans and the Coach of their team said made it easier to take the lose. Their Coach said she was shaking when the game was over and was sure the team was also because they came out alive. Their team played a good game and a smart game but the officials made some very bad calls that cost us the game. Fouling Jess Hansen out when she didn't deserve it really did hurt us. Who knows what she might have pulled out for us. The Coach of the Texas Tech said she put her best Guard on Kristen Mann and doubled teamed Lindsay Taylor. That was smart because Kristen Mann is so good and everyone knows it now. They must have done a good job on Mann because she did well but not as well as she usually does. It is not the fault of the team or the fans that the officials made bad calls that cost us points, but I can hear them saying "but we will take it" because I have heard our announcer say that for our team once in a while when a call goes our way. So we will go to the Sweet Sixteen next year, as we should have an even stronger team then. We will miss our seniors of course and could always use them.

Lindsay Taylor really step up her playing and made us all very proud of her. One of the Fastbreakers said they think at this time Lindsay is now one of the best Centers in the Nation. That made Grandma very happy but of course I have thought that for sometime now. Of course I am very partial. lol  All the girls played so hard and well. Mia was wonderful as usual and will be even better next year. Thank you Gauchos for many great games and wonderful memories.   Love Helen Taylor

The French Kiss

One more year left in Lindsay's college basketball career, which will be a whopper along with the fantastic team expected    to take

the floor in the 2003-2004 season. The whole year should be dedicated to being dedicated, so each player comes out knowing they are part of a great life experience by becoming the best student and athlete in a University that really cares about their well being. There will be high expectations, but these ladies will work hard to climb the mountain. They didn't get down on themselves this year on what could have been and they won't get down on themselves next year, but fight to the end knowing to be a Gaucho means being a winner and getting a big pat on the back from the University and a big hug from Coach French for a job well done.
